Earlier today, I received word from an anonymous source that both Capcom and SEGA are set to unveil a cross over title during the Tokyo Game Show festivities dubbed, "SEGA vs. Capcom: Great Clash Generation."The game is described as a "hybrid RPG-fighting game" coming out on the Nintendo DS in Q1 2009 with a "likely" PSP port later in the new year.
SEGA is apparently heading the game's development alongside Dimps. Capcom however will take on the role of supervisor.
Anonymous did not have any knowledge as to who would make up the character roster, but did mention that Rockman and Sonic's presence were a given.
We'll find out if this rumor holds any truth later this week, TGS is set to begin Thursday, October 9th.

It sounds a lot like Namco X Capcom, I'd be happier with a more traditional fighting game (but there's already the Tatsunoko one...), still I'd really like to battle Shadow using Rockman.EXE! XD

Could be a very interesting game. You have to wonder what Sega can bring to the table besides Sonic the Hedgehog and Phantasy Star though. While Capcom has enough unique franchises to make their own Smash Bros. type game, Sega tends to stick to one or two at any given time.
Anonymous: I'm aware of that game, it was a great deal of fun, at that. I mean a main stream platformer featuring the two former rivals.
Yeah i could care less about Sonic too. But there are tons of other Sega Characters to have fun with.

I would have preferred if Capcom was in charge on this game along with Dimps,even with Capcom watching closely,Sega is bound to screw something up.
Still,it would be awesome seeing Sonic,Mega Man,Ryu and (hopefully)NIGHTS together in this game if this rumor is true.
